TDG Call for Proposals

Are you looking for an opportunity to enrich your teaching?

Are you planning to integrate experiential learning component in your course?

Are  you  implementing  any  innovative  ideas  to  enhance  student  learning?

Call for proposals for Teaching Development Grant (TDG) projects is now open. The Center for Education Innovation (CEI) would like to invite faculty and teaching staff to propose projects to explore innovative ways of teaching and apply pedagogies that are aligned with the University’s teaching and learning initiatives.

Projects focusing on the following areas are highly encouraged:

  • Incorporating experiential learning in academic courses
  • Promoting active learning in the classroom
  • Exploring innovative assessment in higher education
  • Adopting original and innovative teaching ideas for content enhancement

Funding Information

  • All TDG projects are funded by University Grants Committee (UGC) and managed by CEI.
  • The projects are reviewed and monitored by the TDG Funding Committee chaired by the Associate Provost for Teaching and Learning with representatives from the four Schools.
  • The funding limit for individual project is up to HK$200,000.
  • Clear justification must be provided for the amount requested. Refer to the Application Guidelines for details of the use of funding.

Eligibility for Application

  • All full-time faculty/teaching staff of the University with responsibilities related to teaching and learning.

Deadline for Preliminary Proposal Submission 28 Aug 2017
Deadline for Final Proposal Submission 25 Sep 2017
Funding Committee Meeting End Oct 2017*
Announcement of Results Nov 2017
* All applicants will be invited to clarify their project ideas to the Funding Committee in the meeting.
